About

Digital RemnantsBrain Dust

As life passes, so do memories. You may have confidence that these recollections; those that are meaningful, will remain. But who’s to say? I don’t want to chance it. This website is a way for me to document and share these moments for posterity. These fragments of my time in this world are recorded here for myself, my family, friends, and acquaintances.

Drawing With Light @ 1/60th

Capturing objects, places, people, and nature in genuine and secluded environments is where I find the most joy in photography. Snapping candid portraits and collecting the authentic spontaneous world without distraction.

I find capturing life, a fraction of a second at a time, an entertaining endeavor. Being in the right place, at the right time, is key, but having the wherewithal to freeze the moment is an art.

No Relation Literally

The name of this website “MySoupytwist”, derives from “soupy twist”; a catchphrase of a late 80s British sketch comedy television show called “A Bit of Fry & Laurie”. Used as a heartfelt parting expression at the end of the show. If I’m not mistaken, no one besides the creators, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, knows the true meaning of the phrase, or if it even has one.

Although I enjoyed the show, the name of the site was not motivated by fandom. Instead, it was about the intrigue the name invokes in others, it’s quirky lack of definition, and the fun it inspires. Perhaps it’s more closely related than I assumed?
